SIMIODE EXPO 2021
SIMIODE EXPO 2021
We are pleased to announce our first International Conference, SIMIODE EXPO 2021, 12-13 February 2021. This conference is for all faculty and students who are interested in using modeling to learn, motivate, and teach differential equations. SIMIODE EXPO 2021 is one more effort to build a Community of Practice in SIMIODE through outreach and sharing.
SIMIODE EXPO 2021 will be a virtual online conference in the rich and user-friendly meeting platform offered by www.mathdept.org which has hosted large conference, e.g., Society of Mathematical Biology during summer 2020. SIMIODE EXPO 2021 will have all the amenities and meeting options that other international meetings such as the MAA MathFest and Joint Mathematics Meetings offer. Features include contributed paper sessions, minicourses, poster sessions, break out rooms, panel discussions, lounge areas, one-on-one conversations with instant ZOOM connection for “hallway” conversations, and more – all but the smell of hot coffee!!
The conference will run from 3:30 PM (Eastern US Time) through 9:00 PM on Friday, 12 February 2021 and from 10:00 AM through 7:00 PM on Saturday, 13 February 2021, with a structed schedule and time for friendly conversations and meet-ups.
Registration is $25 US for students and $45 US for non-students.
Registration will open in November 2020. Call for contributors will occur in November 2020.
Please see the tentative schedule and think about how you would like to interact with others at SIMIODE EXPO 2021. As speaker? Panel member? Minicourse attendee? Face-to-face? Poster Session Presenter?
We will have 30 minute minicourses with 5 minute break in areas of interest to those teaching differential equations with modeling as well as Breakout Sessions consisting of two 20 minute sessions with 5 minute break between sessions and 15 minute break before next session.
See SIMIODE EXP 2021 webpage for more details.
